Weight loss: what it takes...
Hallo all you healthy lifestyle supporters!
We have hit the second month of 2015 with a bang, barely remembering January! So little time, so much to do!
Today I want to discuss the battle and issues with obesity.
It is NOT an easy challenge, there are NO shortcuts and if something sounds too good to be true, believe you meee, it is! There are so many scams out there, promising massive weight loss with barely any change in lifestyle OR if you use X machine you will lose so many centimetres blah blah blah... it is a lie people, do not fall for it!
Yes there are medication that can and will aid in your weight loss journey, but it takes total lifestyle and mindset change to be successful.
What you have to realize is that the way you have been eating and living, is in 99.999% of the time, the cause of your predicament. If you consume more calories than what your body can effectively use as fuel, it has no other option but to store the excess energy as fat or fuel for later use. And if you do not use up those reserves before embarking on your next meal, well, the next bucket load of energy is just going straigt into your fat cells, joining the rest.
And this is where total lifestyle change MUST happen. There are 4 things that will set you on the right path:
1: Get proffessional help: if you could have lost the weight on your own, you would not be overweight anymore! There is NO shame in getting the help you desperatley need, it will save your life!
2: You MUST accept and embrace that you NEED to change your whole outlook on life and food.
3: Patience... you did not pick up the weight and the poor lifestyle habits overnight and you will NOT lose and change it overnight!
4: Focus on what you will gain, not what you have to "give up".
Humans are creatures of habit and it is very difficult to imagine a life outside of your current lifestyle. Because it is such an adjustment that is needed, it can be overwhelming. That is why it is of vital importance to get professional help, so that you can be guided into your new way of living.
You will not have to become a recluse, it is not needed at ALL! You will simply take your own food with when going to friends if needed and you will learn to choose wisely at restaurants when dining out, as easy as that.
The benefits of losing weight FAR outweigh the negatives as there is actually NOTHING negative about freeing yourself from your obesity. Yes you cannot eat huge portions of refined carbs, tonns of deep fried food, masses of junk food or litres of sugary soda anymore, BUT you can have nutritious and fiber rich whole grain healthy carbs, correct portions for your healthy weight body, grilled low fat foods and colourful salads and veggies in abundance and proper hydration instead of liquid sugar. And do you know what will physically happen to your body as you start taking good care of it?
You will sleep better
Heartburn will subside
Obesity related sleep apnea will dissapear
Obesity related snoring is something of the past
You will be able to comfortably get into and out of your vehicle
No more battling to get those shoes on
Normal size clothes will fit you
You do not have to hide under layers and layers of clothing on the beach
You will be able to walk without effort
Climbing stairs will become something to look forward to

Yes, it takes hard work and dedication to get your life back on track, but it is worth every single bit of effort. The changes start taking place within the first 10 days and the journey, no matter how long, is one of extreme pride and joy!
Become your own best friend and saviour, as it is your responsibility to keep your body healthy, for a healthy body harbours a healthy soul...
Till next time, best of luck and go for it, everybody deserves to know what it feels to be free!
